Memorial Day

What a fantastic weekend! The weather was just perfect...high 70's, low 80's. We spent the afternoon of Memorial Day at the pool with our neighbors, the Prosperi's. I brought my 4, along with our friend Emily. Julie brought 2 of her 3. The water was FREEZING, but no one seemed to care.

As you can see, when it comes to food, Andrew is in charge. He was not giving up his grip on the bag of Cheese Balls. Look at those cheeks!

We finished the weekend with Pizza and beer on the Prosperi's deck, while the kids played. It sure feels like summer!

Abby's 1st Cleaning at the Dentist

Abby had her 1st cleaning at the dentist on May 22nd. She did AWESOME!! She was a model patient. No cavities! And aside from having a "tiny mouth" her bite is perfect. She was rewarded with 4 tokens and purchased 4 bouncy balls. Way to go Abby!!

Mommy's Math Getaway!

Go ahead, make fun of me, I don't care. Math is my job and something I just really enjoy. I went to Emmitsburg, MD to Mt. St. Mary's College to a Math Conference for 2 nights. That's right, 2 nights...no crying, no whining, no changing diapers, (OK, feeling bad for Chris) and except for changing hotel rooms at 3 AM b/c I was in a "previously smoking room..but not anymore" room(I couldn't breathe), the trip was a lot of fun. And as Joan (co-worker) said, "What happens in Emmitsburg, stays in Emmitsburg!" Ha Ha!

So, let's not lose site of the fact that this was a work trip. That said, for those of you who are familiar with Math Education, you know just how exciting it was for me to have the opportunity to hear Marilyn Burns speak. Yes, I was star struck. And lucky for me, I had my camera and one of my co-workers snapped a few shots of Marilyn Burns.

I also got to hear Randy Charles speak. AND he sat next to me at dinner with my friend Debbie and another friend. It was like a "Celebrity Math Educator" trip.

Go ahead, make fun of me...I don't care. I love math!!

Andy's 3rd Birthday Party

Our good friend Andy turned 3 on May 17th. He had his party at a bounce place in Columbia, MD. Oh my gosh did we have fun. I even climbed to the top of the slide a few times with both Abby and Andrew. Somehow, I did not get Andy's picture during the entire party. He was so busy bouncing and sliding. :-( Thanks for a great time, Andy.

Cousin Alex's 4th Birthday Party

Alex celebrated her 4th birthday with a great party. I drove the 4 kids with Grandma C. over to the Eastern Shore to help Alex celebrate. Everyone had a great time!!

Abby's New Haircut and 3 Year Old Pictures

I FINALLY got Abby's haircut and 3 year old pictures. She did GREAT! The camera loves her. :-) And, wow, she looks more and more like Samantha every day!

My Mother's Day

My Mother's Day started with 2, yes 2, breakfasts. Samantha and Sarah made blueberry pancakes all by themselves. Daddy cracked the eggs, but that was it. They really wanted to make me breakfast. So that was my first breakfast in bed. Next, was my old favorite which has become a tradition...Eggs Benedict...YUM!!!! Samantha and Sarah made me cards, paper flowers, and pictures for Mother's Day. I also got Mario Kart for my Nintendo DS.

After breakfast, Sarah and Abby took me to get a pedicure. After I was finished having my nails painted Abby announced with a big grin, "My turn!" Too funny!

Andrew managed a short nap before we headed out for Brewster's Ice Cream. Poor Chris, didn't get to come. He had to get to work.

All in All it was a Great Mother's Day complete with one full blown battle between the 3 girls, of course. :-)

Abby's Mother's Day Program @ Pre-School

On Thursday, May 8th, Abby's school had a little Mother's Day Program. It was very cute. They said the "Pledge of Allegiance" (I had no idea Abby knew the Pledge), sang some songs, and had a snack. They finished the morning with Ms. Monni reading their cards. Each child was asked questions about their Mommy. Here is what Abby had to say:

Favorite Color: Yellow (not really, but that's OK)

TV Show: Survivor (Good Job, Abby)

What Mommy Calls Me: Abigail Smith (OK, in all fairness, I've been working with Abby to say her whole name...most kids had cute things like sweetie, honey, princess)

The most special thing my Mommy did for me: She got me a baby doll for my birthday (Alright, she did get a bunch of baby dolls, but I got her Horton, her very first goldfish...not a baby doll)

I love my Mommy because...she's a girl. (Abby seems to have some gender issues...mainly b/c a certain baby brother has rocked her little princess world...ha ha)

Abby gave me a very cute card and MOM picture frame with her picture in the "O". Thank you Abby for my special day!!

Alyssa's 1st Birthday Party in NJ

We drove to Williamstown, New Jersey (just outside of Philadelphia) on Sunday, May 4 for our niece's 1st birthday. What a BEAUTIFUL day for a party. Uncle Ken and Aunt Connie have done an awesome job turning their backyard into a kid's play place. There were swings, a seesaw, sandbox, playhouse with a slide, and even a toddler moon bounce. Abby and Alaina (Alyssa's big sister) had so much fun playing together. They are only 4 months apart as are Andrew and Alyssa.

We all had a great time. Poor Andrew missed nap time, so he fell asleep outside in the baby swing around 6 pm. As long as he has his blankie, he can sleep anywhere. :-)

Washing Mommy's Van

Last Saturday, it was very hot outside. The girls were "bored" because all of their friends on the street were not home. I knew it was coming, "Mommy, can we was your car?"

"Sure!" They looked a bit surprised at my answer. Anyway, by the end of it, everyone was soaked and the van was "half" clean. Oh well. They had fun and I enjoyed watching Abby take control of the hose. Thankfully, Andrew was napping so I only had 3 wet kids. :-)

Andrew's New Haircut

Well, I FINALLY took Andrew to get a Big Boy haircut. We walk into this new barber shop, and all these men look at me like I'm crazy. They are all African American men of varying ages (it reminded me of an Eddie Murphy movie, where he plays all the characters and they are in a barber shop). They of course ask me how I want his hair...I don't know...he's my only boy. So I tell his to trim it. Well, the first chunk of hair fell on my hand (Andrew was in my lap) and I said, "ohhhh not too short." Oh well, too late. He handed the trimmers to this other guy who was so fast.

Andrew definitely looks more grown up. The new look is cute, but I think his hair is too short. Good thing hair grows back.
